“Changing with the Climate: How Fast, How Far?”
Sept. 16-17
After years of debate, a political and scientific consensus is growing that global warming is happening, and that it is being caused largely by the release of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide, from human activity. How severe is the problem? What can be done to fend off the damaging effects on the global climate? What does a changing climate mean to our region? How far and how fast must we adapt?
This year's Faith, Reason and World Affairs Symposium will bring together scientists, theologians, economists, public policy experts, industry representatives, artists and students to explore these questions, to equip our community with information for better understanding of the problem, and to help us make responsible choices in the future.
All sessions are free and open to the public.
