Thursday, March 27-Saturday, March 29
Honors Weekend 2008 is a unique academic event as Concordia College partners with the National Book Foundation to host the third annual National Book Awards Campus Weekend. Concordia will host four distinguished speakers who, together with our faculty, administrators and students, will stimulate our thinking about what it means to influence the affairs of the world.
National Book Award finalists Jim Shepard ("Like You'd Understand, Anyway") and Woody Holton ("Unruly Americans and the Origin of the Constitution") will be on campus for a reading and discussion hosted by MPR’s Kerri Miller Thursday evening, March 27. Harold Augenbraum, Executive Director of the National Book Foundation, will also be with us.
On Friday, March 28, morning Master Classes with authors Jim Shepard and Woody Holton will be held. A noon Faculty Lunch with Authors and Harold Augenbraum is planned, as well as numerous departmental Honors Weekend events scheduled throughout the weekend. Please see the complete schedule of events for more information.
